Patients first, Insurance Second
Not surprisingly, one of the first things people ask a doctor they are considering is: “Do you take insurance?”
Yes, most insurance policies cover our services — however we operate with them as an “out-of-network” provider (as opposed to a “participating” or "in-network" provider).
The reason we have chosen not to participate as an in-network provider is because insurance companies tend to exert a lot of power over healthcare practitioners. Their reimbursement contracts generally incentivize shorter visits, instead of visits aimed at obtaining full histories and providing proper patient education.
This is why visits with conventional physicians average only 5-10 minutes – most have chosen a quantity strategy to keep their doors open and serving you.
We have chosen a quality strategy, because we would like to treat you, not your insurance company.
This choice helps keep our patients’ health interests at the forefront of our minds, rather than your insurance company’s rules.
Ask your insurance
In order to offer you all the time and attention you need to support deep healing, we operate with all insurance companies as out-of-network providers.
If you have insurance, and will be relying on reimbursement for your care with us, it may be helpful to call your insurance company and confirm ahead of time how your benefits will apply before scheduling an appointment. Ask them these questions about your plan:
Do I have naturopathic coverage?
Do I have out-of-network benefits?
What is my co-pay or co-insurance for visits with out-of-network providers?
Does my plan cover “telemedicine” (aka”telehealth”) visits?
What is my deductible, and how much of it have I met?
If your insurance company does not cover Naturopathic Medicine, we do offer discounts for seniors, military, students and for additional family members from the same household. Special circumstances may also apply. Give us a call to see if you a qualify today.
Superbill
Insurance reimbursement for your visit is available only for patients in Washington state, not clients outside of WA state.
After direct payment for your visit is complete, upon request, we will upload your superbill to your online patient portal. This superbill contains standard insurance-industry coding, with the information your insurance provider requires for their reimbursement to you.
